Welcome to Life In The City.
We are a tight-knit, Austin-based church community who strives to Keep Jesus Weird. To that end, our mission is to offer the radically reconciling love of God in Christ for the health and wholeness of mind, body and spirit. We do this in many ways, including gathering together on Sundays (and other days), the creative arts, and partnering with causes that are near and dear to us. We are rooted in the Methodist tradition and strive to grow within ourselves and our community the openness, inclusion and activist spirit of that original 18th century movement. We believe in the equality and dignity of all people. We believe in conversation and reconciliation. We welcome you to the table, whether you are inside a religious tradition, out on the edge of one, or completely outside. No matter where you find yourself on your spiritual journey, you have a place here.
This newsletter will be our home where we’ll publish reflections during the major church seasons (Advent, Lent, Christmas, etc.), essays and perhaps the occasional sermon.
