We are indeed beings made for connection - to God and each other. And, just as Anne and Helen, we don’t always know who or when or how deep those connections may be made.
Also, I second Daniel’s article on Extinguishing the Blue Flame! I, too, have been working to cut back on my social media screen time, removing Facebook and Tiktok from my phone so they aren’t in my pocket with me everywhere I go.
Amen, Corrie! I am always surprised by the grace of unexpected connection. I don't know if there is a single relationship in my life, outside my family of origin, that I could have predicted. At this point, I have learned to expect the unexpected.
As far as screen time, good for you. My son also just deleted those apps from his phone. I have faith we are moving in the right direction with all this stuff, and finding our right relationship with it...slowly but surely.
Life is to live and life is to give, and talents are to use for good if you choose. Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be strong. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work will be no miracle. Every day you will wonder at yourself... at the richness of life which has come to you by the grace of God. But, everyone needs someone, [as well as] knowing that, somewhere, someone is thinking of you (Poem prayer used by Bl. Solanus Casey, written by the Rev. Phillips Brooks).
I’ve read so much about Helen and Anne over the years and do little about their spiritual lives and thoughts! Thank you for opening the door to this essential part of their journey and teachings!
You are quite welcome. I'm glad you found it meaningful. Anne and Helen both had deep spiritual lives, but very different from one another. The amazing thing about Anne is she pointed Helen down spiritual paths she knew would resonate for her, even when they weren't Anne's own spiritual paths.

This was truly inspiring. Thank you.

This is beautiful, Deli. Thank you for sharing! Greg

Absolutely wonderful daily reminders of those that came before us. Thank you so much! They are brilliant and resonate deeply.
I'm glad you liked this one, Laura. I had a lot of fun researching and writing it. Greg
