Superb entry! I learned so much about history that I vaguely knew and wanted to learn more. The reflection questions are also right on the mark! Thank you! Well done!
This makes me so glad, Cynthia! Rufus Jones is a favorite of mine, so it gives me a lot of joy to share him. If you ever want to dig deeper into him, there is a great little primer entitles Rufus Jones: Essential Writings, which comes from Orbis Books' Modern Spiritual Masters series. I read it while prepping for this entry and highlighted the heck out of it. So much good stuff! Blessings to you and yours this season, and in the new year. Greg
I was wondering why I felt like I knew Rufus Jones from the start! Thank you for piecing together Jones with Thurman and MLK Jr and their commitment to non-violence born of that belief in the Inner Light and the powerful connection between contemplation and action!
Thanks for reading, Christina! I love making these connections between wisdom masters like Jones, Thurman and King. I'll throw Gandhi in there too since he was a huge influence on all three. It highlights how the teachings are at once ancient and new--always refreshed by changing times and contexts.

I love to read what you write, Greg!
I neglected to mention Rufus's Aunt Peace in that list of wisdom masters. Much of Rufus's wisdom grew from seeds planted by Peace.
That is a beautiful metaphorically as it is actually!
